A teacher’s testimony…
Jane Wanjiru Njeri is on our staff of amazing teachers at Mountain Park Academy. She shares her story of starting in Grade 3 as a student at MPA before graduating and gaining her certificate in education.
She began teaching with us in the fall of 2018, now using the unique perspective she has as a previous student of the academy. We are so thankful she decided to become an educator and help us carry out our vision to teach and grow the children of Kenya spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally!
Mountain Park Academy
Providing an education to children grades K-8 for over 12 years, Mountain Park Academy was the very first of all of The Kenya Project’s now-established programs to serve women and children. The vision of our founder and school teacher, Mama Robi, Mountain Park Academy was the original way we began to reach the children of our community by providing a better education opportunity.
Our various science, reading, math as well as spiritual development classes focus on the holistic development of our students. Our amazing staff of teachers works tirelessly to provide for our students’ various learning needs and collaborate on new ways to engage our students’ different passions and interests.
Trade School
Stemming from an increasingly apparent need for more diverse educational opportunities for our students, we began planning for a trade school several years ago. We are proud to have celebrated the opening of the trade school in March 2018. Offering a variety of programs for students interested in plumbing, electrical, welding and other professional trade skills, we are in the process of building our team of staff as well as the various equipment and tool needs for class.
Our trade school became a critical need so that students with different interests would be qualified for well-paying jobs in our local marketplace upon graduation.
